The Manuel Rojas Foundation has participated in several meetings, after being invited by colleges, universities and community organizations. The aim of these events are to bring the Manuel Rojas works close to his readers and to promote them among future generations. In all these meetings with the public, members of the Manuel Rojas Foundation and the director of the movie “When expecting dreams”, Pablo Vial, have shared a space of dialogue and coexistence about literature.

The salvadoran writer Castellanos Moya has won the 2014 Manuel Rojas Award. Castellanos Moya received the news from the Serevín Library in Valparaiso. The life and work of Castellanos Moya is crossed by violence, but he argues that he does not write literature of violence but purely literature. From Iowa, Castellanos Moya appreciated the honour and said that like Manuel Rojas he is a traveller: “we were born in different countries and we moved by many others.”…

During 2014 the Manuel Rojas Foundation has the project of opening for public consultation the valuable archive of the writer. Manuel Rojas own collections and the house in which he lived have been preserved by his family, so the Foundation will create a documentation center in order to preserve this heritage and spread his literary and intellectual legacy. The book “La prosa nunca está terminada “, which has just been published by the Diego Portales University, brings together a selection of texts by Manuel Rojas dealing with literature. These writings show us an attentive and thoughtful author, thinking about his art and other writers, such as Horacio Quiroga, Vicente Huidobro, Gonzalez Vera and Alberto Edwards.
